Gallaher's Green - Where Do I Begin?

By DAFFS aka @TwoDaff

Gallaher’s Green are a four-piece UK rock band with a wide range of influences which include the Rolling Stones, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses and many more in between. consisting of Jon Olphert on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Tom Stretton on lead guitar, Ian Gallagher on Bass and Tom Leather on drums.

Their debut album ‘Lucky 13’ encompassed the broad spectrum of influences which inspired them and was released on 12th February 2021. Independently released and without any PR support the album has grown organically and continues to attract a worldwide audience with listeners in countries including US, UK, Japan, Italy, South Africa, Mexico and throughout South America. To date it has received over 160k listens on Spotify alone.

In April 2022, Gallaher's Green recorded their full length follow up album 'Dare To Dream' at Voltalab studios, Rochdale and it is scheduled for release in March 2023. 2022 also saw the band released a fantastic charity single in aid of the RAF Benevolent Fund, ‘Memphis’ a poignant, heartfelt track regarding a friend of the band who sustained horrific injuries whilst serving in HM forces. This was followed by 'Here with Me' in November.

Now Gallaher’s Green are back with a barnstormer of a track ‘Where do I begin’ released on January 6th 2023, just in time for everyone to get back into the gym and burn off those Christmas calories…it fits the bill perfectly for anyone needing a bit of drive. Its one of the last tracks to be released before the new album.

It opens with an atmospheric swirl of psychedelic noise leading you to think this will be a hurdy gurdy, hippy trippy track before your ears are pummelled with a thunderous, stomping drum beat, its an upbeat rhythm that sets a frenetic pace…peloton or treadmill…you will soon be moving through gears. And then the guitar hits you, powerful, huge and anthemic, it cuts through the drums and creates a canvas for the soaring lead riff to work its magic. Its anthemic, loud and well just brilliant!

Powerful, huge and anthemic

Its upbeat, edgy, high octane Rock n Roll. Vocally it snarls at you, begging the question ‘Where do I begin?’ building up to the explosive chorus, injected with more pace, more aggression and more swagger. Its a powerful track, huge drums, huge guitars and a top quality vocal, blended together to produce yet another anthem.

Explosive chorus

The guitar solo rises up like a phoenix and keeps soaring, taking the track to another level, the backing riffs are an explosion of noise. Add to this a snarling, massive vocal, powerful and edgy then you have all that you need. This track needs to be played louder than loud its wall to wall sound of the highest order.

A snarling, massive vocal, powerful and edgy

Gallahers Green have set a new bar with this track and if this is a taste of what’s to come in 2023 then if they dare to dream the world will be their Oyster. I thoroughly recommend this track; I recommend the album and I suggest you watch this space…Gallaher’s Green are going places!
