A sonic tsunami of sound
Opening with a fantastic barrage of stomping drums backed with a blasting brass ensemble it creates a sonic tsunami of sound. Its upbeat and addictive, it sticks like the title suggests. Packed full of energy and passion right from the start, the soundscape is rich with a resonance that pulsates with every drum beat.
A resonance that pulsates with every drum beat
The vocal is powerful yet there is an underlying poignancy and vulnerability in the lyrics, describing the vulnerability of finding solace and protection, relying on others for comfort. They are delivered with passion, highlighting the essence of what The Spase are all about, songs about life, people and how we interact or not. Of course, as with all songs that in itself is open to interpretation.
An underlying poignancy and vulnerability
Glue does have a nostalgic vibe, a blend of 60’s beats and Britpop with smattering of alt rock thrown in for good measure, hints of early Roses perhaps, the use of brass and the drum pattern adds to the nostalgic feel, it’s a sonically charged and catchy as hell. There is a multitude of underlying melodies and riffs that captivate, it’s bright and refreshing with a bold narrative and further emphasizes the bands raw energy and the bond that they have. A great song and sure to be favourite on the live stage. It’s a song that will Stick!
