I Love It - DAYZIES

@TwoDaff

By Daffs aka @TwoDaff

DAYZIES are an alternative/indie rock band formed in late 2021 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. The band consists of Liam Parker, Francis Murray, Mark Hardingham and most recently Josh Mitchel and are currently hailed as one of the North East’s fastest rising, alternative rock bands.

In 2022, DAYZIES released their debut single 'Short Lived Romance', which has been featured as This Feelings track of the day, as well as being played across the UK and international radio stations including BBC Introducing North East, Amazing Radio UK & USA, Islington Radio and Germany’s NDR Radio.

DAYZIES have also proven themselves as a formidable live act by selling out shows. DAYZIES have gained a solid home following and acquired gigs with the likes of Andrew Cushin, DEADLETTER, BILK, Shambolics, The Native, The Feens and Rosellas. With lots of new music to be released over the course of 2023, DAYZIES are definitely one to keep an eye on!

They released their second single, 'I Love It’. On March 17th 2023.

According to the band;

The song was written about getting back into the dating scene the old-fashioned way and without the aid of dating apps. Trying to find the confidence in yourself to speak to that someone you’ve been making eye contact with all night, but ultimately leaving with a potential add on social media. It’s a reminder of how much technology has interfered with our ability to communicate on once a human level.”

First off I would like to thank Mark ( He Knows his music...bad taste in beer though) for putting me on to these guys…the magic of Twitter music eh? So, to the track itself…

An explosion of sound and energy

Straight off the bat your eardrums are assaulted with a barrage of drums and short sharp riffs that tease and lead you into an explosion of sound and energy. The guitars crunch and growl to the beat of thunderous pummelling drums. It’s a full-frontal attack on the senses (in a good way).

Its intense, volatile and hits you full on with all the force of a hurricane.

The vocals are strong, they snarl and almost goad you into submission and cut through the instrumental with an energetic punch. Its infectious and what’s more its addictive. The verses, are explosive and build to a chorus that takes it up another level, adorned with punk fuelled riffs, and a rhythm that has you up and moving. Its intense, volatile and hits you full on with all the force of a hurricane.

Punk angst and indie sentiment

Then comes the best part (for me) a slight change in pace the guitars and the riffs get louder more intense building up to a crescendo of an ending. It’s a blend of punk angst and indie sentiment with an injection of good ole Rock n Roll for good measure. They sound tight, every note/beat/lyric delivered on the money. Big sound…I LOVE IT!

Big sound…I LOVE IT!

Dayzies bring a lot to the table, its loud, its brash, its punk driven indie and what’s more its unique. They sound like an untamed animal let loose on your eardrums yet its pleasing almost satisfying. My advice is to turn this up to the maximum, sit back (If you can) and let it wash over you…A damn good track this and I can’t wait for their next release.
