Only Just Begun - Marseille

Marseille are a young rock n roll band formed in late 2021 in Derby, England. The band consists of Will Brown, Joe Labram, Lennon Hall, Tom Spray and most recently Felix Moxey. Signed to Birmingham based label ADR Records, the 90's Madchester scene and the 60's Merseybeat is where Marseille draw most their influences from.
In 2022 Marseille, have already had some success with the singles "Forget It All" which was played on Soccer Am and the 9-minute monster "The Jungle" over the summer along with a remix feat. Vega Rally. This was followed by FREEDOM released in November. The band have also performed at the Y-Not and Isle of Wight Festivals.

Now they are back with their latest track ‘Only Just begun’ letting everyone know who is in for a massive 2023. The single dropped on the 20th of January 2023 across all major streaming platforms. The new single is Marseille doing what Marseille do best infusing the 60’s Mersey-beat inspired sound with hints of the 60’s psychedelia movement.
Marseille lead singer and songwriter, Will Brown, had this to say about the song: “The song is written about a relationship that ended too soon which I’m sure is something a lot of people have experienced. Something full of potential just ends for a silly reason. This song just reflects that and tells a story of feelings and what happened over the course of that time”
A warm spiralling guitar, dripping in melody
Opening with a warm spiralling guitar, dripping in melody and draping you in 60’s psychedelia fused with squiresque tones…a touch of cinnamon. Sweet and delicious! It has all the jangle and chimes of those halcyon days whether it’s the 60’s or the more recent 90’s classic Britpop eras yet its more than that its modern to boot.

Will's vocal swoons and swaggers in the mix, unmistakable and undeniably cool, packed with emotion and feeling. Yet its bright, clean and is packed with hooks drenched in melodic charm. Its another quality track that has you hitting repeat again and again. And I haven’t even got to the chorus yet! Speaking of which it is a real singalong special, you can’t help it, its catchy as hell and those guitars just keep chiming all the way through lifting you up and taking you off to some summer’s day somewhere.
Unmistakable and undeniably cool
Another brilliant track from the lads from Derby…I have said it before and I will say it again they get better and better with every track. Like a fine wine 2023 is set to be a vintage year for them and its only just begun!
