By Daffs @TwoDaff

Box Of Trash released their debut single ‘Here and Now’ on Friday 11th November 2022 followed by ‘Hypnotised’ now on the lead up to their debut album ‘Candlewood 230’ in March 2023 they release their third track ‘Spaceman’ on February 24th 2023. The band initially started off as a side project by Lyle Kennedy (Vocals/ Song Writer) and Barry Fisher (Lead Guitar/ Song Writer), then Jordan McKee (Drums) came along, followed by Aiden Davidson (Bass) to complete the line-up.

They decided to give it a real go in 2021 when ThirdFire Records offered them a recording contract, this gave the band the unreal opportunity to head over to Chicago in the USA to record. Now the band seek to explore whatever opportunities arise from the releases and grow their fanbase as they work toward their new album.

Spaceman was born out of Barry and Lyle’s Obsession with The Redwalls. According to Barry

Realising you’re amongst an alien invasion and have to survive! This was the track that our label loved when they heard it. This is ultimately how we ended up being given the opportunity to travel to Chicago and record Candlewood 230. Ironically enough it’s also where The Redwalls are from!

A whirlwind of melodies and riffs

This is big, bold and brash, opening with a crackly drumbeat before the radio message comes through “Tranquillity base here, the eagle has landed”. The track explodes into a myriad of thunderous drums, real pile drivers. Echo laden guitars set the pace with glam infused riffs. Its like a whirlwind of melodies and riffs.

A myriad of thunderous drums

The bass line vibrates, thunders and rattles giving the it a trashy undertone. It rolls amongst the guitars like a freight train and gives the track a platform to launch the vocals. Vocally its strong, and really fuses well with dark and dirty instrumental. This track screams energy, it literally shakes the eardrums, it’s a track that has to be played loud. Its pure, dirty 'Rock n Roll', its a great sound!

A trashy undertone

The guitar solo soars, starting at the low end it literally reaches for the stars before the whole thing slows to a halt leaving the listener breathless. This is sure to be a firm favourite for gig goers. Its packed with big dirty riffs, accomplished and well honed vocals which are melodic. There is a real confidence within this group and it shows through in this track. Having listened to their earlier tracks it has to be the best yet.

Big dirty riffs

Get down and dirty, Box of Trash are going places. The album is sure to be hit if this is anything to go by. It’s a great release, more of the same please!
